One-Day Training Module on “Unleashing the Power of IPR and Team Work” for ETs of NTPC at RLI Dadri on 19th September, 2023

On September 19, 2023, NTPC’s Executive Training (ET) team embarked on a profoundly enriching day at RLI Dadri, participating in FCTD’s workshop, “Unleashing the Power of IPR and Team Work.” During this event, participants delved deep into the realms of Interpersonal Relationships(IPR) and teamwork, fostering a rich understanding of their significance. The comprehensive agenda encompassed various facets, including self-assessment of IPR skills, a nuanced exploration of relationship orientation via FIRO-B, the art of building 360-degree IPR relationships in the workplace, and engaging in power-packed management games. Participants shared how the training helped them acquire valuable skills while thoroughly enjoying the learning process.

Training Program on “Team Building” at NTPC – PMI on August 21, 2023

FCTD conducted an invigorating one-day training program on “Team Building” at NTPC – PMI on August 21, 2023. The event was specially designed for the bright and talented NTPC Executive Trainees (ETs) who are the future leaders of the energy industry. Our focus was on instilling the essential skills and dynamics of effective teamwork, a cornerstone of success in today’s corporate landscape. Throughout the day, our expert facilitators and enthusiastic participants engaged in a series of interactive sessions, exploring the art of collaboration, communication, and problem-solving. It was a day of learning, growth, and forging lasting connections.

Training Programme on “Team Building and Business Etiquette” at NTPC PMI during 17th July 2023

On 17th July 2023, FCTD organized a training programme titled “Team Building and Business Etiquette” at NTPC PMI. The programme was specifically tailored for young ET (Executive Trainees) who recently joined NTPC Limited. The session aimed to equip these new employees with essential skills and knowledge to foster effective teamwork and develop a professional approach to their business interactions. Participants were guided to understand the significance of collaboration, open communication, and mutual understanding in achieving organizational goals. Through various team-building exercises and activities, the young ETs learned to appreciate each other’s strengths, communicate ideas effectively, and handle conflicts constructively, setting them on a path toward successful careers at NTPC.

Training Programme on “Building Competencies for Effective Leadership” at NTPC, Solapur

FCTD conducted a one-day Training Programme on “Building Competencies for Effective Leadership” which was held on 14th March, 2023, at RLI, NTPC Solapur for E5 – E7 Executives. The programme was designed to help executives develop the necessary skills and knowledge to become successful leaders in their respective domains. The pre-lunch session included a journey through the program, a micro lab session to understand leadership competencies, and self-assessment to leverage personal leadership style. The post-lunch sessions covered topics like achieving higher results with 360-degree relationships and management games, helping participants develop practical skills to become effective leaders in their industries. With an expertly designed training programme, participants left with practical knowledge and skills that they could apply to their work and take their leadership to the next level.

Training Programme on “Developing Yourself for Managerial Excellence” for Women Executives” at NTPC, Solapur

The Faculty of Corporate Training and Development (FCTD) conducted a one-day training programme on “Developing Yourself for Managerial Excellence” for Women Executives on March 13, 2023, at RLI, NTPC Solapur. The training session was focused on helping women executives develop a positive mindset, understanding their strengths and weaknesses, and learning the winning strategies for work-life effectiveness. The training programme was split into two parts, one before lunch and the other after. During the morning session, attendees engaged in activities to cultivate a positive outlook, took part in a micro-lab, and completed self-assessment exercises to gain self-awareness. The afternoon session concentrated on five strategies for improving work-life balance and featured a management game that allowed participants to learn through both successes and failures. The training session was well-received by the participants, who found the content and exercises engaging and insightful. Training Program Conducted at NTPC, PMI

The achievements of an organisation are the results of the combined effort of each individual. – Vince Lombardi The behavior of individuals in an organization plays a crucial role in determining the productivity and performance of the business. An organisation, no matter how well designed, is only as good as the people who live and work in it. Therefore, comprehending individual and group behavior in a company is imperative for success. On February 28th 2023, a workshop was held at NTPC PMI by the FCTD to examine the intricacies of individual and group behavior in the workplace. The primary objective of the session was to provide participants with a deeper understanding of how individuals behave in an organizational context and how they can collaborate in teams to accomplish shared objectives.

Training Programme on “Building, Inspiring and Leading a Team” at NTPC, Tanda

The “Building, Inspiring and Leading a Team” program was a two-day comprehensive training program conducted at NTPC, Tanda on 2nd and 3rd of February’2023 aimed at equipping participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their careers as managers. The program was designed to provide participants with a well-rounded experience, combining both theoretical and practical components to ensure that they gained a deeper understanding of the concepts and were able to apply them to real-life scenarios. The program was conducted by experienced trainers and practitioners from FCTD who shared their expertise and insights with the participants. The program was highly interactive and engaging, with participants encouraged to participate in discussions and activities to enhance their learning experience. Day 1 of the program had several sessions that were focused on developing self-awareness and personal and professional competencies. The first session was on understanding oneself through gap analysis, which helped participants identify the areas where they needed to improve to become more effective managers. This session was followed by a self-assessment exercise, where participants used the “Wheel of Life” tool to evaluate their personal and professional competencies. The tool helped participants gain a holistic view of their lives and identify the areas where they needed to focus their efforts to achieve their goals. Day 2 of the program began with a session on developing emotional intelligence in the workplace for higher performance. Participants learned about the importance of emotional intelligence in the workplace, how to manage their emotions effectively, and how to build positive relationships with colleagues. The session also provided participants with practical tips and techniques for developing emotional intelligence. Throughout the two-day program, participants were engaged in a variety of interactive activities, such as case studies, role-plays, and group discussions. These activities provided participants with opportunities to apply their learning and to share their experiences with their peers. At the end of the program, participants were awarded certificates of completion, and many expressed their gratitude for the valuable insights and practical tools they had gained from the program.

Training Programme on “Conflict to Collaboration” for Non-Executives at NTPC, Kudgi

Are conflicts stopping you from excelling in your career? Conflict is an inevitable part of human interaction, and it can happen in any setting, be it personal or professional. However, if managed effectively, conflicts can be a source of growth and success. The key is to understand the dynamics of conflicts, resolve intra-personal conflicts, and manage emotions during conflicts. We at FCTD conducted a 3-day programme on ‘Conflict to Collaboration’ for non-executives at NTPC, Kudgi, from 9th to 11th January ’23. The first day of the program focused on understanding the dynamics of conflicts. Participants learned about the different types of conflicts, such as intrapersonal, interpersonal, and organizational conflicts, as well as the causes of conflicts and how to identify them. A workshop on resolving intra-personal conflicts by understanding oneself was also conducted. Participants learned about the importance of self-awareness and self-regulation in resolving conflicts and various tools and techniques such as active listening, negotiation, and mediation. On Day 2, the program focused on conflict resolution at the workplace. Participants learned the importance of effective communication, managing emotions during conflicts, and various strategies such as compromise, problem-solving, and using a third-party mediator. A workshop on understanding and managing emotions during conflicts was also conducted, emphasizing the importance of empathy. On Day 3, the program focused on people management for effective relationships and team management for higher results. Participants learned about building trust and respect in relationships, managing relationships effectively, and various strategies such as setting clear boundaries, active listening, and providing feedback. A session on team management for higher results was also conducted, emphasizing effective communication, collaboration, and leadership in a team setting.

Training Programme on Building Competencies for Effective Leadership Roles for the Executives of NTPC, Kurgi

“Leadership is an action, not a position” As we all know, it takes a lot to become a leader; just a higher designation does not fulfill the need. Along with leadership comes a huge sense of responsibility; being considerate, skillful, and having clear communication. FCTD conducted a program for NTPC Executives at Kudgi from 5th to 7th January’23. With this programme, FCTD aimed to enhance the leadership skills of the executives in order to take their careers to new heights with the “Developing Competencies for Effective Leadership Roles” training programme. Designed for executives, this program taught the tools and strategies one needs to become a more effective and impactful leader. Also, one would learn to explore a variety of leadership styles and learn how to apply them in different situations by understanding their own strengths and weaknesses as a leader and developing the skills needed to drive success for the team and organisation. The first day of the program focused on training the executives to find the leader in themselves and techniques one can use to empower self and lead others. There were also self-assessment sessions which helped the executives to understand themselves better. Day-2 revolved around understanding and developing ‘Emotional Intelligence’ for effective leadership and how to lead results with leadership. It also covered the fundamental aspects of leadership like ‘Conflict management’ and ‘Decision Making’. We also conducted certain activities and games around the same, like ‘Focus your Locus’. Day 3 of the programme talked about the ‘360 degree relationship model’ which trained executives, the strategies to motivate and manage people. We also focused on how they can lead teams effectively. We also played an interesting game ‘Mind the Lane Mines’ with the executives. The programme involved some sessions, some self-assessment and fun set of games that make people understand leadership better and in a more effective manner.

Training Programme on “Value Actualisation for Organizational Excellence” at NTPC, Faridabad

Ensuring employees are engaged is key in business, as it leads to higher company morale and improved quality of work. And it is the leaders’ responsibility to increase employee engagement by coordinating personal values with organizational goals. Day 2 of the 2-day training programme on “Value Actualisation for Organizational Excellence” at NTPC, Faridabad, on 13-14 October 2022, conducted by FCTD was focused on creating a positive environment at the workplace. This session discussed effective ways to direct the value actualization process. We at FCTD work to assist professionals in building a transformative environment that will gradually guide value actualization toward organizational excellence.

Employee disengagement and low motivation at work ultimately result in low productivity and profitability. Great leaders are responsible for creating great workplaces to increase employee engagement by aligning an individual’s values with those of the serving organisation. FCTD conducted a 2-day training programme on “Value Actualisation for Organizational Excellence” at NTPC, Faridabad, on 13-14 October 2022. This was an insightful programme with sessions on self-awareness, Gap Analysis and trust building on Day 1. These sessions also included a few assessment sessions where executives and non-executives could assess disposition and identify gaps. We at FCTD work to train professionals so that their work journey improves and their growth trajectory is visible.
